ROD is the electronic collection point for the outputs and performance measures (OPMs) data for research supported by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

The data collected provides an indication of NERC's strategic performance for NERC council and its committees. It is used to report performance to Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) and in public facing reports such as the NERC Annual Report.

OPM data is collected from grant holders, programmes within NERC's Research and Collaborative Centres and other sources such as research facilities.

Data is collected for Financial years (1 April to 31 March), with the exception of Publication data which is collected on a calendar year basis (1 January - 31 December).

The database is available year round for data input, the deadline date for input will be notified to you in your OPM briefing email.

The data entry period has ended ROD is now closed for entry of OPM data pertaining to FY 2011/12. ROD will remain closed whilst the data is analysed. If you have any queries about your OPM data or this closure period, please send an e-mail to opm@nerc.ac.uk.

The Research Outputs Database may be unavailable for periods between 23:00 and 06:00 when database refresh and backups will be taking place.
